Shae-Lyn was born in Athabasca but grew up on a farm outside of Camrose. The farm instilled in her a hard-working nature and moral value system. Growing up, Shae-Lyn was always interested in law but was unsure if she wanted to be a lawyer, so she chose the next best thing and in 2005 enrolled in the Legal Assistant Program at Red Deer College (now Red Deer Polytechnic University). She completed the program in June 2007, was placed on the Dean's Honour Roll throughout the two-year program and received various student recognition awards.
After graduating and completing her practicum with a tax lawyer, she worked as a conveyancing and litigation assistant until she moved to Yellowknife in 2013. In Yellowknife, she worked for Legal Aid and obtained her Insurance Brokers Licence after that. Shae-Lyn worked as a Licenced Insurance Broker until moving back to Red Deer in 2016.
When she moved back to Red Deer, she pursued legal assisting again. Since moving back in 2016, she has had experience working in various areas of law, including conveyancing, litigation, immigration, and family law. In her spare time, you'll most likely find her outside, going on adventures with her two dogs. Shae-Lyn also enjoys reading true crime and thriller novels.
